Press Release
kwiry makes it even easier to bring the little things you see or hear to your online world
online tool to help people remember adds calendar support, social networking, and voice-to-text features
March 3, 2008, 8:00AM EST - San Francisco - kwiry today announced new ways for users to send in things they see and hear, communicate with friends, and integrate the service into their lives as the best way to remember things while on the go. The new features, added in response to user and community feedback, help integrate and enhance the universal appeal of kwiry's service.
kwiry, which launched in December, is a startup whose service allows people to use their cell phones as a convenient method of remembering all the things they see and hear throughout the course of a day. Users text anything to 59479 (k-w-i-r-y) and have links to search results automatically delivered to their email, RSS, favorite web startpage and kwiry's website. Considering the thousands of media cues people observe each day, from song or movie titles to newspaper articles to products they see while window shopping, texting in a message to retrieve it later online is the most practical and convenient method possible. "We've been excited at all the interest in kwiry's service and the great feedback from our users. Based on their suggestions, we have many new features on the way to make kwiry even better," says kwiry co-founder and CEO Ron Feldman. "Our first batch of updates includes new search results with built-in shopping capabilities, user messaging, enhanced to-dos (with calendar support), and voice-based kwirys (through Jott)."
kwiry has added local search and shopping tabs (including Amazon.com) to its online results, putting even more useful and related links just a click away. The integration with calendars such as Outlook, iCal, Google Calendar and others make the task/to-do list feature in kwiry much more powerful. The update also includes enhanced social features such as advanced search and the ability to share kwirys and messages with friends.
Another new kwiry feature is the integration with Jott's voice service. Users can register for Jott's service and start sending in reminders to kwiry by making a simple phone call. This is a useful enhancement for drivers who need to remember things they see on the road, without adding the risk of trying to send a text.
kwiry is also proud to announce that it was selected from hundreds of applicants to present at the Under the Radar Conference in Mountain View, CA on March 20th, 2008. kwiry will talk about its consumer reminder service and its unique viral platform for advertisers at the conference centered around "The Business of Web Apps".
